Post Wood and Presdales Interpretation
Our work for East Herts Council at Post Wood and Presdales Recreation Ground drew on the core strengths of our design team, combining our ability to develop brand led products with engaging interpretation and wayfinding displays.
Having successfully completed many projects for East Herts Council, we were able to expand on the themes we had previously created and develop a unique identity for Post Wood that would sit comfortably in the brand led interpretation and orientation displays.
The brief required us to produce unique sign displays to house engaging interpretation panels and we presented several options that complemented the landscape and brought this exciting project to life. The finished solutions included static information displays and noticeboards, lecterns with permanently engraved lettering and colour coded waymarking posts.
To captivate our visitors we produced colourful illustrations that highlighted the work of the woodland management team and the species to be found along the trail, explaining how the essential works of the woodland team both protect and nurture wildlife in this green space. Our client was presented with pencil versions of each illustration prior to colouring, allowing them make changes to the species and composition if required.
Orientation was improved with visitors being greeted by detailed watercolour map illustrations at main points of arrival, supported by rustic oak waymarking posts along the full length of the trail.
